The Wishart Award is made to a local nonprofit human service or community development organization that has demonstrated a sustained commitment to excellence in management and governance.
Each Wishart Award winning organization is publicly honored for its achievements and receives a $10,000 cash grant to be used for management support purposes. Award runners-up each receive awards of $5,000. The picture below shows Karen Lamoureux of Pace School receiving the award from Alfred Wishart, Jr. at the 2009 Nonprofit Summit.

Pace School
http://www.paceschool.org/
For more than 40 years, Pace School has been teaching children to overcome the social and emotional barriers to school success. Begun as a school for children with learning challenges, Pace has evolved over the years to meet the changing needs of its children and families.
The school is recognized as a leader in treatment. More than three years of organizational transformation designed to create a safe and healing environment that is sensitive to the devastating effects of childhood trauma and chronic stress resulted in Pace School becoming the first organization in the country to be certified by the Sanctuary® Institute, the recognized leaders in trauma informed programming. In 2007, the Department of Public Welfare cited Pace School as a “model program” for its use of trauma informed care, evidence based practices and effective use of progress monitoring.
